To help you get started, we’ve compiled a list of our 11 favourite Australian tech companies to work for in 2020. This list includes a mix of unicorn stage companies as well as earlier stage companies that are seeing rapid growth.

Expert360 is an online marketplace for matching independent business consultants with clients for short or long term project work. The startup was founded by former Bain consultants, after noticing the trend for people wanting more job flexibility but not knowing how to market themselves.

Before Canva, creating a professional looking design was a complex process – you had to purchase expensive software; learn how to use it; purchase stock photography and fonts for the software; decide on a layout; slice images; receive photos and content via email; design something; upload and email the pdf only to find revisions needed to be made … and then finally be able to prepare your design for web or print.

Since launching in August 2013, Canva’s design tool has attracted over 15 million users across 190 countries, who have collectively created more than 1 billion designs. In 2018 Canva was voted as Australia’s best place to work and is one of the fastest growing Australian tech companies.

Envato builds marketplaces for freelancers and small businesses where anyone can buy and sell the creative assets they need to complete their projects faster. Their community has access to millions of different kinds of assets on Envato Market.

Envato has been bootstrapped and profitable from day one. While the HQ is in Melbourne, Envato is know for being one of the most remote-friendly tech companies, with employees scatterd across the world.
